When it comes to home decor, the tastes and styles of homeowners vary. Our customers, a Denver couple, had around eight hundred square feet of red oak, stained a deep, red mahogany color by a previous homeowner. It just wasn’t our customers’ style, and they feared the floor would need to be replaced. They called us to see if there was anything we could do.
First, we sanded down a thin upper layer of the existing wood, to reveal the beautiful, natural color underneath. Then, we stained it to a new color, hand-picked by the homeowners. The final touch was to give the floor an elegant shine with three coats of finish. Refinishing the existing floor was much less expensive for these customers than having a brand new floor installed — but as you can see for yourself, the refinished floor actually looks like it was just installed!
